Dieser Sammelband ist im Anschluß an zwei internationale Workshops entstanden (Vico Equense bei Neapel, Januar 2000, und Stony Brook/New York, Mai 2000). In beiden Veranstaltungen ging es um das von Jacques Derrida und Gianni Vattimo edierte Buch La Religion: Séminaire de Capri (Paris 1996) (Religion, Stanford/Oxford 1998). Der Band versammelt englisch- und deutschsprachige Essays von Autoren aus den USA, Kanada, den Niederlanden und Österreich. In allen Beiträgen wird das Phänomen der «Wiederkehr des Religiösen» analysiert. Die Autoren entwickeln ihre Thesen teils vor einem philosophischen, teils vor einem medientheoretischen oder theologischen Hintergrund. The English and German essays in this collection originate from two international workshops (Vic Equense near Naples, January 2000, and Stony Brook/New York, May 2000) written by authors from the US, Canada, The Netherlands and Austria. Both conferences centered on the volume titled La Religion: Seminaire de Capri (Paris 1996; Religion, Stanford/Oxford 1998), edited by Jacques Derrida and Gianni Vattimo. All contributions in this collection analyze the phenomenon «The Recurrence of the Religious».
